American tourist allegedly attacked outside Patong Bar
A American tourist supposedly got physical attacked in Phuket’s tourist hotspot town patong yesterday morning. The 35-year-old man had wounds on his face and one of his middle fingers.
The man had been in a bar on Bangla Road where he was reportedly very drunk. He had been dating a 24-year-old Russian woman. According to Thai media, the staff asked the man to leave the bar.
The man was then allegedly attacked outside the bar, although details of who attacked him and why remain unclear.
The Russian woman was not injured, and the man told first responders that only he was attacked. Patong police are still investigating.
This news comes less than a week after another late-night violent incident involving foreigners in Thailand, this one in Pattaya. On 09/23 A tourist allegedly slapped an elderly Australian man in the face as the man tried to stop him from fighting a motorbike taxi driver.
A witness added that the tourist appeared to be heavily intoxicated. The man suffered life-threatening injuries to his face and was taken to a nearby hospital.
