IndiGo, MakeMyTrip are launching flight charter services from India to Phuket this month
New Delhi: Online travel group MakeMyTrip and India’s largest airline IndiGo have launched flight charter vacation services to Phuket, Thailand, Livemint reports. MakeMyTrip said this will be an industry first and will be bookable on select dates from early December 2021. The Charter Vacation Packages provide end-to-end travel services including airport transfers, assistance with applying for the Thailand Passport (a web-based system for travelers to fill out their trip and health information); Early check-in and check-out at premium accommodations, travel insurance and RT-PCR return assistance, the company added. “In the past few quarters, our focus has been on developing products and services that make traveling easy, safe and convenient during the pandemic. Indian travelers have been waiting to travel to popular South Asian vacation destinations. We want to bring more destinations within reach, ”said Vipul Prakash, MakeMyTrip’s chief operating officer, quoted by the mint. The packages would start at around 40,000 yen, he said. “We have seen increased demand for leisure travel and this is a unique opportunity for Indian travelers to celebrate the festivities in style,” added Sanjay Kumar, IndiGo’s chief commercial and strategy officer.
