Phuket Wittayalai suspends classes over COVID concerns
PHUKET: Phuket Wittayalai School in Phuket Town suspended on-site classes from January 26 to February 4 amid concerns about the spread of COVID-19 infections at the school.
Classes will be conducted online while the school is closed, Phuket Wittayalai School said in an announcement today (January 25).
“No online classes on Monday (January 31) due to Chinese New Year to allow students to learn about local culture and participate in family activities,” the announcement said.
All students and school staff identified as at risk should undergo ATK testing, the school confirmed.
Normal classes will resume on Monday February 7 amid strict public health measures, the school added.
While classes are conducted online, all students must fill out the “schedule form,” confirming their attendance at which locations in the school, at what times, and submit the form to their teachers for evaluation, the notice said.
Students were warned not to hide any information about their whereabouts in the information provided on the form.
According to the announcement, the school “requires the involvement of parents, students, teachers and staff to carefully follow public health measures to ensure school operations are on target and everyone involved is safe.”
