Queensland builders redefine excellence at the 2022 Awards

A three-story waterfront home, luxury city towers and a modern family residence on a golf course all earned top marks in the 2022 Master Builders Queensland Housing & Construction Awards.
The state’s boldest and most brilliant builders were celebrated at a glittering evening dress ceremony held in the Plaza Ballroom at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Center on Saturday 15 October.
As always, the caliber of entries from this year’s entrants was remarkable and overcame the challenges the industry faced. The jury was impressed by the amount of entries, their stunning finishes and the level of difficulty of the construction.
Multiplex Constructions’ dazzling The One project triumphed again, winning three awards including the coveted title BCA Certification Project of the Year.
The third installment of the Brisbane Quarter project, The One Residence is a stunning addition to the city’s skyline.
From the palatial foyer to the polished surfaces, every detail has been thought through and meticulously designed to embody everyday life. The opulent apartments offer a world-class residential structure in Brisbane’s newest and most innovative district.
The 83-story high-rise addition at the 300 George Street development won the DWF Excellence in Occupational Health and Safety Award and grabbed the best Residential building (high-rise building over 3 floors) over 20 million dollars.
Our judges acknowledged that it was a difficult task for Multiplex Constructions as they had to work with multiple stakeholders due to the tower’s height.
Braeden Constructions’ beautiful Modern Thai House project won the Golden Gong and won the Colorbond House of the Year Title.
Set in the tranquil waterfront location of Noosa Heads, Modern Thai House exudes contemporary style. Designed to be fully open to an indoor/outdoor living experience, the home is an entertainer’s dream.
The Modern Thai House also claimed this ABI Interiors Individual Home raised over $2 million forgive.
KJ Constructions grabbed the prestige BUSQ Building Super President’s Award for the beautiful Reynolds Home Brookwater project, showing the builder’s attention to detail and quality finishes.
The stunning two story home overlooking the Brookwater Golf Course features innovative use of construction techniques and superb finishes and build quality.
Hutchinson Builders cleaned up the night, taking home a host of awards including Best Commercial building over $50 million for the Midtown Center commercial tower in Brisbane and Tourism and recreational facilities up to $10 million for the MYAC Eco-Tourism Early Works in Far North Queensland.
Ash Moseley Homes also won big for their modern contemporary home in Cairns and won Single home starting at $1.25 million and Best use of sloping sites for the beautiful oceanview project.
Paul Bidwell, CEO of Master Builders, congratulated the winners of all 57 categories.
“From stylish renovations and beautiful new homes to state-of-the-art hospitals, sports centres, pubs and eco-tourism establishments, and towering residential towers that capture the imagination – there is nothing that builders cannot achieve,” he said.
“The efforts of promising apprentices, women leaders in the industry and builders showing their commitment to the future is also something we always look forward to.

The resort style waterfront home brings a peaceful ambiance
Colorbond House of the Year 2022 Winner – Braeden Constructions Pty Ltd for Modern Thai House.
Embodying the Sunshine Coast lifestyle, Modern Thai House offers water views with an outdoor living feel.
The home, which wraps around a central tropical oasis, includes a basement living space that sits below the river. This three story waterfront home features an outdoor dining pavilion, while a fire pit and seating create the illusion of floating in the pool.
The pool is tiled with an acrylic hot tub and a full-width transparent front wall overlooking the river, creating a resort-like vibe with wood accents giving it a tropical feel.
The main windows are double glazed New Guinea rosewood, each panel weighing up to 340 kilograms.

Detached house on the golf course for modern living
2022 BUSSQ Building Super President’s Award Winner – Reynolds Home Brookwater by KJ Constructions (Qld) Pty Ltd.
This stunning split level family home by KJ Constructions features innovative use of construction techniques and superb finishes. The bespoke design makes positive use of the sloping terrain to allow views of the Brookwater Golf Course from multiple rooms.
This home offers features such as an exposed concrete ceiling and a traditional half-timbered roof to provide modern, stylish living. A true multi-generational home with large living areas on both levels is perfect for those who like to be entertained. The judges agreed that the attention to detail was exceptional and met the needs of the client.

The residential tower adds style to the Brisbane skyline
Winner of BCA Certifiers Project of the Year 2022 – The One Residences by Multiplex Constructions.
The One Residence is one of Brisbane’s tallest towers, dominating the skyline at a total height of 274.3 meters and offering spectacular views of the city and surrounding hinterland.
This project is an amazing addition to the 300 George Street development. The One is an 83-storey tower and is the third phase of the Brisbane Quarter project. From the palatial foyer to the polished surfaces, every detail has been thought through and meticulously designed to embody everyday life.
The opulent apartments offer a world-class residential structure in Brisbane’s newest and most innovative district. The jury acknowledged that this was a difficult task for Multiplex Constructions as the height of the tower required them to work with multiple stakeholders.
