TAT Leads Strong Thai Presence at ITB Asia 2022

The Thailand booth at Asia’s leading travel and tourism expo in Singapore on October 19-21 will promote the Kingdom’s focus on sustainable tourism and the “Visit Thailand Year 2022-2023” campaign.

SINGAPORE – The Tourism Authority of Thailand (TAT) is involved ITB Asia 2022 in Singapore from October 19-21, 2022 and with a strong presence following full reopening for tourism on October 1.

This is the 14th time that TAT has attended ITB Asia with the Thailand booth (Booth #F05) hosted by SE Mr. Phiphat RatchakitprakarnThailand’s Minister of Tourism and Sports and TAT executives.

The Thailand booth covers 90 m² and offers a sustainable tourism concept in line with Thailand’s increased pursuit of more sustainable and inclusive tourism. The Visit Thailand Year 2022-2023: Amazing New Chapters campaign will be featured prominently at the show, while a TAT information desk will provide information on existing and new tourism experiences across Thailand.

The stand’s design and furnishings reflect a natural feel, with wickerwork used to evoke Thai culture and the Thai way of life, and photographs on display reflecting the welcoming hospitality and warm welcome offered to all tourists visiting the visit kingdom.

The Thailand booth consists of 14 vendors from Thailand – 13 hotels and resorts and one DMC – who will promote their products and services and engage in B2B appointments with buyers from around the world.

Other activities to be held at the Thailand booth will include a press conference on Thailand’s tourism and demonstration activities including DIY making of pla thapian (Thai-style windmobile) and traditional Thai herbal inhalers to be distributed to guests.

In 2023, Thailand’s tourism marketing and promotional activities aimed at travelers from Singapore will be carried out under the “SG Goes High” campaign. The TAT office in Singapore plans to coordinate with airline partners including Thai Airways and Air Asia to offer special fare offers from December 2022 to March 2023. To tap into the high-end segment, the luxury car road trip will be promoted across the overland border to Hat Yai and Phuket, while health and wellness will cater to female travelers. Schools and universities are also offered the educational trip to Thailand in order to penetrate the first-time visitor segment.

The annual ITB Asia Show is positioned as Asia’s largest travel showcase and co-locates with MICE Show Asia and Travel Tech Asia. It covers the major branches of the travel industry; such as leisure, MICE, corporate and travel technology. Like its parent event – ITB Berlin – it features thousands of exhibiting companies from across Asia Pacific, Europe, America, Africa and the Middle East, including destinations, hotels and resorts, DMCs, attractions, tour operators, airlines, cruise companies and more .
