Thailand Tourism: The Embassy of Thailand in India resumes visa and consular services from January 31

Good news for Indian travelers planning to visit Thailand. According to a latest update, the Royal Thai Embassy in New Delhi has announced the resumption of visa and consular services from January 31.

As previously reported, the said service was temporarily suspended on January 9 due to the surge in COVID-19 cases in the state capital. The said decision was reportedly made after reviewing the current pandemic situation and diving new cases in New Delhi.

The Thai Embassy in India stated that visa applications can be submitted through BLS International and VFS Global. The embassy further informed that the mentioned process can take up to 10 working days; Therefore, anyone planning a trip to Thailand should apply in good time.

To simplify the process for applicants, the embassy has also published a contact number to seek an appointment for the same. It added that visa and consular services at the Royal Thai Embassy will resume from January 31, 2022, and necessary appointments can be requested by calling +91-9205396169 during official opening hours.

In addition, the Thai government has announced the resumption of the quarantine-free entry and Test & Go program for international travelers in the country, which will come into effect from February 1 under the sandbox program.

Fully vaccinated travelers from around the world can now apply for a Test & Go Thailand Pass up to 60 days in advance, along with confirmed accommodation payments on the first and fifth days with two RT-PCR tests, as well as a pre-arranged airport transfer on the first Day. Pattaya and Ko Chang’s sandbox program will also reopen, according to reports.
