The Kusoldharm Foundation awards 313 educational grants

PHUKET — The Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation held its annual Education Scholarship Ceremony on Tuesday (Aug. 2), awarding a total of 313 scholarships to help local children.

The ceremony, held at the offices of the Kusoldharm Phuket Foundation, was presided over by the Foundation’s Acting President, Lek Tantiwongpaisan.

Mr Lek was joined by members of the Foundation’s Board of Trustees, as well as teachers and students from a number of schools across the island.

As part of his opening speech, Mr. Lek explained how the foundation will award a total of 313 educational scholarships to students over the coming year that would make a longer-term positive contribution to supporting local communities in Phuket.

He also explained and praised the work done by the foundation and its volunteers, mainly rescue work and assistance to victims of accidents and various disasters, which he believes is the main task of the foundation.

The Kusoldharm Foundation Scholarship Project was created by former Chairman Benjawan Tampanuwat, who recognized the importance of education.

After setting up the program, Ms. Benjawan stated that such scholarships would give children access to education, knowledge, skills and social awareness and acceptance, which would contribute to building a better society and advancing the nation.
Established in 1974, the Kusoldharm Rescue Foundation is Phuket’s largest voluntary ambulance and rescue organization with bases across the island including in Patong, Muang and Thalang.
